I've not blogged in like 4 years. I'm sure I won't blog much, but hey, once a week or so, I think I can manage it.
I'm really getting into Crossfit. Ok, not so much this week. Between meetings for my kids, and two longer than usual workdays, I just can't seem to get there. But I really love it when I get to go. Even
if I'm muttering under my breath some really vile 4 letter words during lol!
But I'd really like to be a part-time runner. Now, I freaking HATE running. Ok, maybe that's not true. I like the idea of running. I've wanted to be a runner for quite some time. I hate the side effects of running. For me, shin splints. I have read that those will diminish with time, and maybe a different running technique. So I'm just going to have to work on it. Get over it and work on it. My cardio capacity sucks! Sucks ass big time. I'd be better at Crossfit, which I really want to be, if I didn't feel like my lungs were going to explode. So this spring and summer will be all about improving my cardio capacity.
But my main battle, my diet. I did a Clean Eating challenge earlier this year, and for me, did outstanding. I lost 5lbs, and was feeling better, and well, was starting to try different foods. But in the last while, my hubby, who had been working til 8pm, is now not working. Its ok, he's retired military and gets a decent retirement. But he's home and making supper. I usually hit Crossfit in the early evening like 6:30pm or so. His version of "clean eating" is eating on clean plates. And a little more take out than I want. Sigh. I've eating way to much shit food in the last 3 weeks he's not been working. I've gained weight, like the 5lbs I lost during my clean eating challenge, and feel fat and bloated. I need to teach him what's some good food, good clean food, to cook, or just do it myself after Crossfit like I did before.
I did my first 5K this last Sat. OK, so I sucked at the running. That's ok, I jogged a little, walked the rest and didn't finish last LOL! I'm signed up for another one, and plan on training/running a little more to actually run a little more of it.
I'm reading Tosca Reno's Clean Eating books again. They give me a good foundation to build a good diet on. Now to teach my hubby how to cook clean, or at least cook semi-clean.
